This bottle of real Dutch genever is the best old school - that is, oude - style genever in the world. We used more than three times the minimum required amount of maltwine (moutwijn), the pot-still multi-grain distillate at the heart of genever, as well as six classic botanicals. It was distilled in Schiedam, Holland, at De Tweelingh distillery. Genever powered the first Golden Age of Cocktails in mid-1800s America, outselling some other imported spirits by 450 to 1. Then, as now, genever was equally at home in the penthouse or on the pavement.
