Veritas: A unique blended white rum

Great news - From today (25/1) you will find Veritas in our portfolio and at Systembolaget. The project behind Veritas, which is latin for “Truth”, was born out of a very simple idea: bringing the true taste of rum back to the mixology world.

It is the innovative result of the collaboration between two of the Carribean's most iconic producers: Foursquare Distillery in Barbados and Hampden Estate in Jamaica, brought together by Luca Gargano of Velier. Created through the first ever 100% Caribbean partnership to produce a blended rum.

The white rum category of today is large and varied: it ranges from entry-level, neutral mixing rums using multi-column stills to aromatic Agricole rhums and funky spirits like heavy Jamaican rums and Haitian clairins.

Veritas fills in the gap between these two extremes: it raises the bar of quality within the standard mixing rum category, while remaining accessible and perfectly suited for classic cocktails. It is expressive, yet balanced. It is distinctive, but approachable: a genuine blended expression created especially for mixing, giving classic cocktails the body and character they deserve.

VERITAS omnia vincit: the truth conquers all!

The recipe for Veritas was inspired by the original taste of Cuban white rums of the 1930's, made using Coffey columns and pot stills, not the modern technology of multi-column stills in use today in Cuba. To reproduce the taste of an original Daiquiri, one should choose a rum made by the traditional methods used for the production of Veritas.

Veritas is a new standard for contemporary classic rum based cocktails. Not only for creative, new cocktails – but for doing the classics better.

Veritas Daiquiri

Ingredients

• 50ml Veritas blended rum

• 20ml lime juice

• 15ml Cane sugar syrup

• 3 drops of water

How to

Shake all the ingredients with ice and fine strain into a chilled glass. Zest the lime and discard, garnish with lime wedge or mint.
