After being postponed in spring 2020, the Glassology Design Contest is back for its third edition, challenging bar professionals from around the globe to create the world’s next iconic glass and have it produced by ONIS.
ONIS, formerly Libbey Europe, knows the power glass has to make a good drink a great one. Constantly searching for the next big thing in glassware – and looking to the world’s best bar professionals to help create it.
Bartenders and mixologists from all over the world are invited to design glassware that complements cocktails and enhances the drinking experience.

The Gats range created by Yochen Verbeeck is a result of this competition, and has since become a big favourite amongst bartenders and guests!
How the competition works
The Glassology design contest is your opportunity to use your creativity, innovation and industry know-how to create the ultimate drinking experience – no glassmaking experience required.

Create your account and upload your sketch with a short explanation, February – May 2023.
Semi-finals
24 semifinalists are announced in June, after registration closes. In June and July, the winner semifinalists visit ONIS sites in the Netherlands and Portugal for inspiration and to meet the marketing and design teams to finalize your concept and drawing.
Finalists announcement
After all final designs are uploaded, industry-expert judges from ONIS will select six contestants for the final.
Finals!
The finals will be held in November at the Athens Bar Show in Greece. You'll get to showcase your design and present the ultimate drink experience. The winner will be announced whose glass will be produced and distributed to bars worldwide!
