A tasting of Novo Fogo Cachaça and guest shift by Uma Nota at Liberdade.

Together with Novo Fogo Cachaça we had the pleasure to welcome expert Philippe Mille for a Cachaça seminar and tasting at Liberdade in Södermalm, Stockholm.

Cachaça (also known as Rum's older Brazilian cousin) is a distilled spirit made from fermented sugarcane juice and is the most popular spirit in Brazil. Outside its native country, cachaça is mostly as an ingredient in tropical drinks, with the caipirinha being the most famous cocktail.

Novo Fogo Cachaça is 100% USDA-certified organic and sustainably produced and their distillery is a zero-waste facility. We got to try their range while being walked through the production process.

In the bar: Nando Imamura

Later that evening we also had one of the best bartenders from Paris in the house, Nando Imamura from Uma Nota making top class Novo Fogo Cocktails.

Uma Nota is inspired by the Japanese quarter of Sao Paolo, bringing the food and cachaça to first Hong Kong, and then Paris. Nando is the head bartender, serving some amazing cocktails brightening up an ice cold Stockholm evening.

Thanks to all people involved, to Ewan and Liberdade and to the bartenders taking part in the seminar.
